The Balearic Hillclimb Championship opened this Sunday with the Pujada Aigües Blanques. Pedro Mayols chances for victory seemed to disappear after mechanical problems struck his Silver Car S2 in practise. The team however managed to repair his car in time for the races and Mayol repaid them by winning easily. Marcelo Torres in the Semog Kart-Cross had to bow down to the reigning champion to finish second. Vicente Bufi debuted in the sportscar class with a Silver Car S2 and finished third.
