The Ukrainian Hillclimb Championship gets underway this weekend with the Truskavets Grand Prix. The event was originally scheduled for last week, but was moved back because of the cold weather. On Saturday the actual Truskavets Grand Prix will be competed. On Sunday the competitors move a few kilometres away from the city for the Modrychi Hillclimb.
23 drivers have entered on Saturday. Among them are six Mitsubishi Lancers in the top-class. Among them is current champion Volodymyr Petrenko. Last year’s surprising runner-up Volodymyr Apostolyuk is also present in Truskavets. He is the most prominent name among the 11 Lada pilots. There will also be one foreign driver present. David Holland will be coming over from Great Britain to compete in Truskavets. He is sponsored by a ferry service, which allows him to compete in rallies and races around the Baltic. In Truskavets Holland will be present with his spectacular Ford Escort G3. It will certainly stand out among the Lancers and Ladas!
