The Pujada Alcover is the first hillclimb of the year in Catalunya. The season opener has attracted 29 drivers. In the entrylist their are some big surprises. Francesc Munne and Albert Lopez are still the only drivers in CM+. Ramon Plaus returns to defend his CM title, however his former rival Edgar Montella will not be in Alcover. Their countryman Felipe Brandao is a new face in CM. He will debut his Speed Car GT at Alcover.
The biggest news comes from the touringcar category. At the end of last year undefeated champion Gerard De La Casa exchanged his Seat Cordoba for a Subaru Impreza WRC. His rivals have now updated their machinery also. Joan Salvans was a regular fixture of the Catalunyan Championship in his BMW M3 E36. In 2018 he has switched to a Porsche 911 GT Cup. And he is not the only one, as Jordi Gaig will bring a similar car. Last year’s runner-up Luis Aguilera has also changed his wheels. Last year he competed in an Seat Leon Cup, in 2018 he will be driving a Ginetta G55 GT3.
