In the 1920’s and 1930’s the racetrack was 3000 metres long. From 1977 to 1988 the race was part of the East-German Hillclimb Championship. In those years it used the format here displayed.
There were plans to revive the event in 2001 but these failed. Regularity meetings have been organised since 1997.
