The hillclimb calendar for the Canary Islands looks very much the same as last year. Only on La Gomera the hillclimbs are changed.

Just like last year there will be only one hillclimb in La Rioja. The Subida a Arnedillo at the end of May will be the only event in this small Spanish state.

The Cantabrian Hillclimb Championship grows from 5 to 7 events in 2018. The Subida a La Granja was last competed in 2004 but will hopefully return next October. Two weeks before a brand-new event called Subida Laredo – Seña is scheduled. The other five events are the same hillclimbs that were also contested last season.

The Andalucian Hillclimb Championship will count 14 events in 2018. They are the same 14 that also took place last year. Almost all the events will take place on the same weekend. The most important change is that the Subida a Algar will open the season the first weekend of March.

The Spanish Hillclimb Championship will receive a big boost this year. The promotor Sportech is investing a lot of time and money in the championship.
