The Spanish Hillclimb Championship will receive a big boost this year. The promotor Sportech is investing a lot of time and money in the championship. One concrete item they are investing in is the new prizemoney. This season there will be around 50.000 euros to divide amongst the drivers who compete in the championship. A lot of things are still quite vague but will be announced in a couple of weeks time.
What is know is that the calendar has received a big update. In previous years the championship was mostly focused on the first three months of the year. In 2018 the seven events are evenly spaced between March and October. Gone are the events in Portugal and Andorra. The Subida a Tamaimo on Tenerife is also dropped from the schedule. The Subida a La Santa – Totana in Murcia on the other hand joins the calendar. There will be one more new event in October but the location will be announced later.
