The seventh and final round of the Bergrallye Cup was the Gossendorf Bergrallye. It was one of the closest races of the season. Favourite Rupert Schwaiger could drive only a single practise session due to problems with his clutch. Stefan Wiedenhofer also completed just one practise session due to water pump issues. But both drivers managed to repair their cars in time for the races.
The first race saw a fastest time for Rupert Schwaiger. The second race Stefan Wiedenhofer set the best time of the weekend. Everything would be decided in the third and final race. Rupert Schwaiger had to be quicker than Wiedenhofer and also had to improve on his two previous times. He succeeded in one objective but because his time was too slow his chance for victory disappeared. Werner Karl was very close to the two leaders but drivetrain damage saw him retire from the third race. Still he finished third overall.
With his victory Wiedenhofer also conquers the E1 +2000 4-Wheel-Drive Class Championship. The overall championship, called the Bergrallye-Supercup, is for Rupert Schwaiger. Schwaiger is also the class champion of E1 +2000 2-Wheel-Drive. As he won all seven races in his class that should not come as a surprise. Other important class champions are Michael Wels (E1 -2000), Florian Pyringer (E1 -1600), Reinhold Taus (A +2000), Gerald Glinzner (H +2500) and Mario Krenn (H -2500).
